NIBIRU Opens July 16 and Announces the Start of Summer 2026

NIBIRU Opens July 16 and Announces the Start of Summer 2026 Experiences: Daily Shows with Free Access, Festivals, and First International Artists: Timbaland, Busta Rhymes, Fat Joe, Hugel, Ozuna, and Nicky Jam

NIBIRU, the new entertainment project on the Romanian seaside, announces at a special event dedicated to press and the business community, its official opening on July 16, 2026, the launch of its first experiences, festivals, and the start of ticket sales for the inaugural season. Developed as an entertainment city, NIBIRU will operate this summer with events, concerts, shows, and activations scheduled Monday through Sunday. The confirmed international line-up for this summer includes Timbaland, Busta Rhymes, Fat Joe, Hugel, Ozuna, and Nicky Jam.

“NIBIRU is an entertainment concept coming to life and, beyond the economic impact it will generate, it aims to create a place where people are happier and more connected to a genuine holiday experience. We believe that is precisely what the Romanian seaside lacks: real reasons for people to choose to spend their time here, and a framework of unique experiences that will change their perception of our country’s coastline. We are building a place that answers the question «What can I do at the seaside in the evening?», with experiences for multiple generations, at international standards and at an accessible price,” said Andrei Șelaru (Selly), co-founder of NIBIRU.

A promenade with free access and activities for the whole family

NIBIRU will include a large-scale promenade running through the entire project, functioning as the central space of the experience. Unlike traditional seaside promenades, this is not merely a place to stroll and relax, but an active zone with multiple functions and integrated entertainment.

The promenade will include over 2.000 trees and plants, a fully occupied food court, more than 30 restaurants, cafés, and bars, shops, and areas dedicated to events, sport, and relaxation. Multiple experiences designed for families and children will also be integrated here. Partners from Hype Play are developing a 5.000 sq m playground on site, and the NIBIRU Amusement Park will also operate on the promenade, conceived as an evening experience, with music, lighting, and views of the sea and the main arena.

The area will also include the Planet Museum, a thematic route dedicated to the Solar System, designed as a visual and educational experience for families, as well as the TaranTerra reptile exhibition. Additionally, NIBIRU will host a contemporary art space developed in partnership with Suprainfinit Gallery, bringing exhibitions, workshops, and guided tours to the project.

Daily Shows on the Center Stage and an Experience for All Generations

The NIBIRU Center Stage, a large-scale stage hosting nightly concerts, dance performances, acrobatics, circus elements, pyrotechnic shows, and special productions created exclusively for this project will also be located on the promenade.

The organizers announce that the shows will be developed in collaboration with director Răzvan Ioan Dincă and his team, known for productions such as The Phantom of the Opera, Mamma Mia, and Shrek marking a departure from the classic seaside concert format: every artistic appearance is conceived as a full show, created specifically for the NIBIRU universe.

Romanian artists performing on this stage throughout the summer will include INNA, Delia, Theo Rose, Carla’s Dreams, Antonia, Alex Velea, Alina Eremia, EMAA, Holy Molly, Mario, Rareș, The Motans, and Irina Rimes, in formats and productions developed specifically for the new entertainment destination.

The concept targets a diverse audience, from young people and festival communities to families and tourists seeking organized, safe evening experiences.

One of the project’s central decisions concerns accessibility. The organizers announce that entry to the promenade will be free, subject to a minimum spend of 25 RON. The model was designed to keep the experience accessible while remaining operationally sustainable. Widely used in major entertainment destinations, this approach makes it possible to maintain a high experiential standard without introducing a general admission ticket.

Free entry will be available subject to capacity limits, and during periods of high demand, access may be regulated through a reservation and ticketing system. The founders state that this decision reflects the project’s founding mission: entertainment at very high standards, at the most accessible price possible for the general public.

NIBIRU Arena, stand-up comedy club, beer hall, nightlife

Beyond the promenade, NIBIRU includes a number of venues with ticketed access. These include the stand-up comedy zone developed in partnership with The Fool, featuring shows by artists such as Micutzu, Drăcea, Bordea, and Frînculescu, as well as Nuba Cafe, already familiar to audiences from Beach, Please!.

The project will also feature NIBIRU Beer Hall, developed in partnership with URSUS Breweries, a venue with approximately 1.000 seats, designed for live concerts, group dining, themed evenings, and a highly diverse musical offering ranging from Romanian pop and folk to Greek music, lăutărească, and party formats.

The centrepiece of the project is, however, NIBIRU Arena presented by the organizers as the primary event venue and the most spectacular space in the entire complex. With two VIP platforms, hundreds of square metres of LED displays, and a state-of-the-art sound, video, and lighting system, the arena will host the summer’s major events and festivals.

Summer festivals and first tickets on sale

In the inaugural season, NIBIRU launches several proprietary event and festival brands, built around musical genres and communities.

GALAXIA, scheduled for July 17–19, will officially open the major festival series and brings the latin-reggaeton scene to the forefront, with Hugel, Ozuna, and Nicky Jam among the first confirmed artists.

NEBULA X, July 24–26, is the festival dedicated to electronic music and will bring EDM, techno, and house artists and DJs to Costinești.

K-POP Days, scheduled for August 1–2, is a pilot event dedicated to Romania’s K-pop community, built as a market test and development platform for a genre with an increasingly visible local audience.

The Artist Awards, August 5–6, will bring together artists and influencers in a format combining concerts with the presentation of entertainment industry awards in Romania.

RETROGRADE, August 28–30, will close the summer with a festival dedicated to the hits of the 2000s. The first confirmed international artists for this festival are Timbaland, Fat Joe, and Busta Rhymes.

The organizers have also announced a series of special events outside these festivals, including Gipsy Kings concerts on August 9 and 21, a special programme for National Anthem Day on July 29, and Sea Days (Zilele Mării), scheduled for August 14–16, the weekend of Sfânta Maria.

Tickets for the festivals already on sale are available at nibiru.net, with starting prices of 99 lei/day, VAT included. Special packages are also available, including a three-festival package and an All Access pass for the entire season.

“I welcome the proposal from the NIBIRU team to be, this summer, the bridge between generations and the host of some memorable shows. I will be introducing today’s young audiences, at NIBIRU, to the Romanians who made history. It will be a great summer, with parents and children together. At NIBIRU there will be no difference between parents and children, between juniors and seniors. Only that some have memories, and others have plans,” said Dan Negru, NIBIRU Ambassador and host of artistic events taking place at this entertainment destination.

A project with economic, tourism, and investment stakes for the southern coastline

Nibiru 2026

Beyond the artistic dimension, NIBIRU is built as a project with economic and tourism significance, with strong potential for the Costinești area.

According to the organizers, the project estimates an annual impact of over 300 million euros on the local economy, through a model designed to extend tourist consumption and circulation across the entire season, not only around specific events. Approximately 80% of suppliers are Romanian companies, and official partners include Banca Transilvania, Lidl, Ursus, eMag, GLO – Hilo, Pernod Ricard Romania, Red Bull, Jägermeister, and Essence. Within the same ecosystem, the Beach, Please! Festival, hosted by NIBIRU for the first time, is estimated to generate an impact of approximately 100 million euros, contributing to the overall increase in consumption on the coastline.

NIBIRU was also designed with sustainability in mind, through the use of modular structures, rainwater reuse systems, and the objective of obtaining BREEAM certification, which would make NIBIRU the first entertainment project in Romania to pursue this standard. Safety, access control, cleanliness, and operational organisation will be among the central components of the experience at the new entertainment hub on the coastline.

“This is an investment made entirely from private capital, with no government funding and no European funds. It is a bet on the potential of the Romanian seaside and on Romania’s capacity to build an entertainment and tourism product that is competitive at an international level,” Selly added.

Through this project, the founders of NIBIRU propose a new model for the Romanian seaside: a large-scale entertainment ecosystem in which the experience, the evening programme, safety, and accessibility become the primary reasons people choose to come to the coast. The goal is a paradigm shift, from a coastline centred almost exclusively on accommodation, to one where content, infrastructure, and the complete experience define the attractiveness of a destination, for both local audiences and international tourists. The launch of NIBIRU comes in a context where Romania loses billions of euros annually from outbound tourism, and the Romanian seaside faces a lack of integrated entertainment experiences. Through this project, the founders aim to contribute to reversing this trend and to repositioning the Romanian coastline as a regionally competitive destination.

About NIBIRU

NIBIRU is a private entertainment and tourism project developed on the Romanian seaside, in the Costinești area, proposing a new model for spending the summer season — built around a continuous entertainment experience. The concept was initially announced in the summer of 2025, and its development began approximately three years before the official launch, through successive phases of planning, partnerships, and operational construction.

The first development phase, scheduled for the 2026 season, includes the project’s main infrastructure: the central promenade, food and beverage spaces, entertainment areas, and the primary stages for events and festivals. The project is designed as a modular system, with the possibility of expansion and development in future phases.

NIBIRU operates as a seasonal entertainment city, with daily events, thematic concepts, and proprietary festivals, targeting a diverse audience from young people to families. The project is funded entirely from private capital and aims to contribute to the development of entertainment infrastructure in Romania and to increasing the attractiveness of the Romanian coastline at a regional level.
